Cooking Timer
Set common cooking times with a single button for noodles, eggs, steak and more.
How to use the Cooking Timer
- Press one of the preset buttons: 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 min.
- The countdown replaces the buttons and runs to 00:00:00, where a short tone plays.
- Pause stops the count and becomes Resume. Reset clears it and brings the presets back.
Seven fixed presets and no custom time
The buttons cover 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 minutes, with no field for a time of your own, so pick the nearest. Starting a timer hides the preset row until you press Reset, which is why switching from five minutes to three means resetting first.
What the alert is, and when the count slips
At zero the page plays one short tone through the browser audio, at 880 hertz for under half a second. It does not repeat and there is no notification. The count also ticks from a browser timer that some browsers slow in a background tab.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the time while it is running?
Reset first, then press the button for the time you want.
I cannot hear the alert.
Check that the browser tab is not muted and that your device volume is up.
Can I set a time that is not on a button?
No. The seven presets are the only times available and there is no input field for a custom one. Pick the nearest and watch the display.
Does it keep running in another tab?
It keeps counting, but browsers slow background timers, so it can finish later than it should. Keep the tab in view when a minute matters.
Will it alert me if my phone screen is off?
No. Nothing here holds the screen awake or sends a notification, so the tone depends on the page staying open and active.
