What time is it in Seoul right now
The clock above shows the current time in Seoul, updated every second. South Korea runs on Korea Standard Time (KST), which is UTC+9, and the whole country uses a single time zone โ there is no regional difference between Seoul, Busan and Jeju.
Time difference from major cities
Korea does not change its clocks, so any shift in the gap comes from the other city moving on or off daylight saving time.
| City | Standard time | During its daylight saving |
|---|---|---|
| Tokyo | Same time | Same (no DST) |
| Singapore | 1 hour behind | Same (no DST) |
| Sydney | 1 hour ahead | 2 hours ahead |
| New Delhi | 3.5 hours behind | Same (no DST) |
| Dubai | 5 hours behind | Same (no DST) |
| London | 9 hours behind | 8 hours behind |
| New York | 14 hours behind | 13 hours behind |
| Los Angeles | 17 hours behind | 16 hours behind |
Does South Korea use daylight saving time?
No. Korea experimented with it during the 1988 Seoul Olympics and has not used it since, so KST stays at UTC+9 for the entire year. For anyone scheduling regular calls with Korea this is convenient: the Korean side of the meeting never moves, and you only need to adjust when your own country changes its clocks in spring and autumn.
When to call Korea from abroad
Korean office hours are typically 9:00 to 18:00 KST, Monday to Friday. From New York that window is roughly 19:00 to 04:00 the previous evening, so late evening on your side reaches the start of the Korean working day. From London it is 00:00 to 09:00, which makes early morning your only comfortable overlap. From Sydney the gap is small enough that a normal working day on both sides overlaps for most of the afternoon.
Korean public holidays follow the lunar calendar in some cases, so the dates of Seollal and Chuseok move each year. Offices commonly close for several days around both.
