Sleep Timer Online
A timer for sleep and naps that sounds an alert once the time you set has passed.
How to use the Sleep Timer Online
- Press one of the preset buttons: 10, 20, 30, 45, 60 or 90 min.
- The presets give way to a countdown in hours, minutes and seconds.
- Pause holds the count and turns into Resume; Reset brings the presets back.
- Set your device volume first, since the tone plays at a fixed level.
Six fixed lengths and nothing in between
The presets are the only durations on offer, since there is no field for a custom number of minutes. Round to the nearest button, and press Reset before choosing another.
| Button | Countdown starts at |
|---|---|
| 10 min | 00:10:00 |
| 20 min | 00:20:00 |
| 30 min | 00:30:00 |
| 45 min | 00:45:00 |
| 60 min | 01:00:00 |
| 90 min | 01:30:00 |
It sounds a tone, it does not stop your music
What happens at zero is one short tone lasting under half a second. Nothing else on the device is touched, so music and podcasts play on; use the sleep setting in your own player to end playback. The count runs a second at a time while the page is open, so a throttled tab makes the tone late.
Frequently asked questions
Can I close the tab while sleeping?
No. Keep the tab open so the alert can play.
Can I make it quieter?
Adjust your device media volume before starting.
Can I set a custom length such as 25 minutes?
No. Only the six preset buttons exist, so pick 20 or 30. Starting a preset hides the row until you press Reset.
Does the tone repeat if I sleep through it?
No. It plays once and the display then rests at 00:00:00. No notification is raised, so it will not keep trying.
What happens if I pause and forget to resume?
The count holds where it is for as long as the page stays open, and the button keeps reading Resume until pressed.
