Yes or No Generator
Press the button and get a yes or no.
How to use the Yes or No Generator
- Settle on the question first, and on which answer means what.
- Press Decide. The display shows YES or NO, each with the same chance.
- Press Copy result to take the answer, or read the list below for earlier ones.
- Press Clear history to empty that list and restart the numbering at 1.
The page never sees your question
There is no field to type a question into. Every press is the same even draw with YES and NO as labels, so nothing about your situation reaches the result. Pressing again after an answer you disliked changes nothing.
Which decisions this suits
A random answer saves time on choices where both options are acceptable and easy to undo, such as which task to start or where to eat. Where one outcome carries a real cost, compare the two instead.
Frequently asked questions
Should I use this for real decisions?
Treat it as a nudge rather than an answer. If you feel disappointed by the result, that tells you what you actually wanted.
Is it 50/50?
Yes. The draw is compared against the halfway point, so each answer comes up half the time over many presses. Short runs still cluster, so a streak of four means nothing.
Can I ask it more than one question?
Yes, but the answers are unrelated. Each press is a fresh draw with no memory of the last, so linked questions can disagree.
Is the answer stored with my question?
No. Only the word YES or NO and its number go into the list. There is nowhere for the question itself to be recorded.
Does my history appear on my other devices?
No. The list sits in local storage, which belongs to one browser on one device, so another phone starts empty.
