Reverse Text

Reverses your text character by character.

How to use the Reverse Text

  1. Type or paste the text you want reversed into the input box.
  2. The output box refills on every keystroke, in the opposite order.
  3. Press the copy button to take the reversed version with you.
  4. Paste that result back in to reverse it again and recover the original.

Why emoji and accents can come back broken

The flip works on UTF-16 code units, not on the characters you see. Latin letters and punctuation survive a round trip, but an emoji built from a surrogate pair is torn in half, and a separate accent mark lands on the wrong letter.

Comparing the boxes to check a palindrome

The reversal is literal, so spaces, commas and capitals hold their places. Level and rotator match at once, while Madam, I am Adam does not, because the comma moves. Strip punctuation and case first.

Frequently asked questions

Can it reverse word order instead?

No. It works one character at a time, so words come out reversed and each is spelled backwards too. Split the text on spaces and rejoin it to flip word order alone.

What is it used for?

Puzzles, novelty social posts and checking palindromes.

Does reversing twice give back the original?

For ordinary text, yes. Emoji and separate accent marks may not survive, because each is split over more than one code unit.

Does it reverse each line separately?

No. The box is one string, so the last line ends up first and the line breaks travel with everything else.

Is this the same as mirror writing?

No. Only the order changes; every letter keeps its shape. Mirror text needs characters drawn the other way round.
